IBM Research Zürich, Switzerland

As the European branch of IBM Research, the mission of the IBM Research - Zurich laboratory is to pursue cutting-edge research for tomorrow’s information technology and to cultivate close relationships with academic and industrial partners. At IBM Research - Zurich more than 20 researchers in the area of information security are focusing on privacy, cryptography, secure systems, and security management. IBM Research - Zurich played a leading role in the development of provably secure cryptographic algorithms and privacy-supporting technologies; the laboratory also supplied cryptography technology used in IBM's systems and service offerings, ranging from operating systems to secure online authentication solutions used by major banks. In the TREsPASS project, IBM focused on in-depth analysis and modelling of the cloud infrastructures use case. Within this activity a particular goal is to automate risk analysis for large infrastructure clouds, based on IBM's work on auditing virtual systems as well as on formalising security requirements.
